A fresh tip from AssembleDebug sheds light on a potential new ‘Organize’ tab that’s coming to your Google Pixel’s Contacts app. From the looks of it, it will replace the current ‘Fix & manage’ tab with a refreshed design. Check out the screenshot below:

This refreshed design makes it easier for folks to understand what each setting does. In the current implementation, the settings appear as small rectangles with no description of what each one does. Here’s a screenshot of the old UI for reference:

The new ‘Organize’ tab is currently hidden in Google Contacts version 4.27, according to the tipster. However, it can be enabled with a feature flag – 45621130 – if you have a rooted device. Granted that the change now exists and can be checked out by flipping a flag, we can expect to see a public release in the next few weeks or months. Although, it’s worth noting that Google may decide to axe the redesign if things don’t work out as expected. So we’d suggest taking this information with a grain of salt.

Most recently, Google was spotted testing a refreshed Google Contacts widget and it also added a ‘Connected apps’ section to clean up the UI. So it’s good to see Google making an effort to improve the user experience across its apps.
